As a Senior IAM Engineer, you’ll own and optimize identity systems with a strong focus on Java -based development and RESTful integrations. You’ll collaborate across teams, mentor others, and help shape the future of IAM security in a cloud -forward, enterprise -scale environment.

Develop IAM integrations and custom connectors using Java and REST APIs
<\/p><\/li>
Support onboarding of internal and third -party applications into IAM systems
<\/p><\/li>
Implement access certifications, lifecycle management (Joiner/Mover/Leaver), and role engineering
<\/p><\/li>
Collaborate with cross -functional teams to refine IAM architecture and processes
<\/p><\/li>
Maintain clear operational documentation (Confluence, etc.)
<\/p><\/li>
Mentor junior engineers and lead technical delivery for projects
<\/p><\/li>
Communicate IAM vision and best practices across the organization
<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
The right candidate brings hands -on development expertise, a builder’s mindset, and a deep understanding of IAM architecture. You're a developer first—comfortable in code, not just consulting on strategy.

10+ years in software development or security engineering, including core Java experience
<\/p><\/li>
Proven success developing web service integrations (REST APIs) for IAM systems
<\/p><\/li>
Familiarity with cloud IAM (e.g., AWS, Azure)—roles, policies, best practices
<\/p><\/li>
Strong understanding of IAM architecture, operations, and security practices
<\/p><\/li>
Previous lead or mentoring experience in technical teams
<\/p><\/li>
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders across all levels
<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
Experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (custom connector development preferred)
<\/p><\/li>
SailPoint or security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CIAM)
<\/p><\/li>
Experience with large -scale, distributed IAM environments
<\/p><\/li><\/ul>
Must be a U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or H -1B with approved I -140
<\/p><\/li>
Must be local to the Reston, Virginia area or willing to relocate before start (relocation assistance provided)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)

You must have real Java development experience<\/b> building IAM integrations (preferably custom SailPoint connectors), and be able to speak to it in -depth during interviews. Consultants without hands -on coding experience will not move forward.
